City Care’s Visitors Code

We ask all visitors to comply with this code prior to and during any visit.

  • Try to inform us of a visit prior to attending
  • Check in with the service on the day prior to their visit, to ensure the situation in the service has not changed
  • Not be unwell on the day of their visits
  • Complete the visitor questions providing the necessary information required by the provider at the visits (e.g. honest response to screening requirements about infectious control risk factors)
  • Comply with the infection prevention and control measures, including a temperature test, mandatory hand
    hygiene, the use of PPE as required
  • Ensure that any gifts brought to give to the individual they are visiting can be sanitised, in line with

 

Infection Control

As part of our ongoing health and safety commitment to our employees, customers and community we would appreciate all potential visitors to ask themselves the questions detailed below about their Health.

If you answer Yes to any of the questions, please can you inform the service that you are visiting. we may need to reschedule your visit, restrict it in terms of contact or require you to wear items of PPE

so that your visit can go ahead.

  • Have you been unwell in the past 2 days?
  • Have you had diarrhoea or vomiting in the last 2 days?
  • Do you currently have a rash that has not been diagnosed or has been diagnosed as infectious?
  • Do you currently have a cough?
  • Do you currently have flu or Covid 19 symptoms?
  • Do you currently have a high temperature or fever?
  • Have you been exposed in the last 7 days to an infectious disease?         

 

During your visit

If you observe anything that doesn’t seem right or feels concerning during your visit, please inform the care home manager in the first instance. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can escalate your concerns to the local authority

PPE Guide

Visiting us today you might be asked to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) This leaflet tells you how to take your PPE on and off correctly Click here and how to wear your face mask safely Click here.

You will be shown where you can put your PPE on and take it off and where you can dispose of it in a Yellow Bin.

Visitors Policy and Procedure

Our top priority is to minimise the risk of infection transmission within our services and to prevent outbreaks of infectious diseases, safeguarding the health and well-being of the people we support, our staff, their families, and visitors.

This policy aligns with government guidance and involves collaboration with the local Community Infection Prevention and Control Team. It is designed to manage outbreaks of infections such as influenza, COVID-19, or norovirus, ensuring safety while maintaining meaningful connections for those we support.
